Northenden Golf Club is the jewel in the crown of the South Manchester courses.
Don't take our word for it, ask Open winners Tony Jacklin, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, Bob Charles and Greg Norman plus Ken Brown, Manuel Pinero, Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance or Mark McNulty, who were among many of the European tour stars who played in the club's annual pro-am tournament in the 70's and 80's.
The Greens Project
In July 2005 the members of Northenden voted by a large majority to rebuild all 18 greens to the United States Greenkeepers Association specification. Read more on "The Greens Project".

Northenden secured a comfortable 6 1/2 - 1/2 win over Cheadle in the Preliminary Round of the Dunham Forest Trophy knockout. With the new EGU regulations specifying that full shot difference must be given in singles matchplay, the team performed extremely well, as every player had to give away shots. The winning team was made up of James Curtis, Gary Mitchell, Tim Christie, Lee Roy Turner, Alex Mattison, Ian Brougham and Carl Harrison.
Winter Rules cease from the end of play on Friday, 18th April 2008. The Lombard Qualifier on Saturday, 19th April 2008 will be the first competition of the season without lifting, cleaning and placing. The course has dried out well this week and the recent breezy weather is helping to dry it out even further. Inevitably there are still some soggy areas, but hopefully they won't interfere with play too much.
