Changes To Handicapping System 2018

Changes to the CONGU handicapping system will come into effect on 1 January 2018. These have been kept to a minimum because of the potential introduction of the World Handicap System, but include:

• The end of club and disability handicaps. These will be replaced by a new Category 5 for men and a new Category 6 for men and women, giving a maximum handicap of 54 for all golfers.
• The introduction of 9-hole medal competitions and 9-hole medal opens. For handicap purposes, the 9-hole medal scores will be converted to stableford points.
