NGC Greens 'Amongst the best in the Northwest' - Official

Report by The Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI)

Earlier this month the STRI conducted their regular inspection of the course and have submitted their report.

Tests were carried out on 6th, 12th and 18th greens and a general review of course condition was conducted. The findings were very positive especially considering the weather conditions over Autumn/Winter and early Spring and the more recent drought.

Greens

“These are providing excellent playing surfaces with a good set of performance data”. A verbal comment was also made suggesting that the greens were “amongst the best in the Northwest”.

Disease was well controlled despite the adverse weather conditions referred to above.

The height of cut is set at 4mm and mowing frequency has been reduced and rolling used instead to maintain pace and presentation. This is working well. The performance data for the greens showed that there was a year on year improvement and that they are of tournament standard.
