Northenden Golf Club

Rules Evening a big success

Hi Dave,

Sorry for the delay in replying, but have been travelling and I’m now in SA.

It was as always a pleasure for me to come back to the place where it all started for me. As I have said,  Northenden holds many many fantastic memories for me and it is the place I started my Professional career some 41 years ago as a young 16 year old under John Trafford.

So to come back and see so many familiar faces was perfect.

I am glad they all had a good time and learnt something about these new rules. It will take us all (me included) some time to get to grips with them, but I am sure that once we have it should make the game more enjoyable and also a bit quicker.

Please pass on my very best regards to everyone.

Thank you for going to the trouble of organising it. I spoke with both Captains before I left and had said that you deserve a big thanks for all the calls, e-mails and WhatsApps that have gone back and forth between us both.

Thanks again and if there is anything I can ever do for you or Northenden them please don’t hesitate to get in touch as it will be my pleasure.

All the best

Gary Butler

I write to thank you on behalf of Northenden Golf Club for not only agreeing to present a highly professional 2019 rules evening but at the same time an evening with laughter and sensibility for the rule changes that now lie ahead.

To a person, everyone who attended thought the whole evening was perfect and they are now much wiser.

At the same time the Captain’s were also able to raise through a raffle a sum in excess of £100 for their charity.

Gary, a big big thank you. As a professional golfer you have access and playing rights. NGC will always welcome you back to this club and we are proud to say you were once one of ours !!
